What is package design?

Package design is the design of a product’s physical packaging, its structure, graphics, materials and finish, so it protects the product, communicates the brand and meets regulatory requirements. It spans the dieline and structural form as well as the artwork that wraps it, from first sketch to print-ready file.

The shelf is the real test

Packaging is often the last thing a shopper sees before deciding, and frequently the first physical contact they have with a brand. On a crowded shelf it has to stand out, communicate what the product is in seconds and justify the price, all while surviving handling and shipping. Few brand surfaces do as much commercial work.

How considered packaging lifts a product

Good package design increases shelf standout, clarifies the offer and reinforces the brand at the point of purchase, while avoiding costly print and compliance mistakes. We design with structure, regulation and print production in mind from the start, so the file that reaches the printer performs on the shelf and survives the supply chain.

Package Design FAQs

What does package design involve?

It involves both structure, the dieline, form and materials, and graphics, the artwork, information and finish, designed together so the pack protects the product, communicates the brand and meets regulations.

Why is packaging important for a product brand?

Packaging is often the final influence before purchase and the first physical contact with the brand. It drives shelf standout, communicates the offer quickly and reinforces brand value at the point of sale.

Do you handle regulatory and barcode requirements?

Yes. We lay out packaging to accommodate mandatory information, ingredient or usage text, and barcodes for the relevant product category, while keeping the brand clear and legible.

Can you manage the printing and production?

Yes. We specify materials and finishes and can manage print production, including offset and gravure, so colour and quality are controlled through to the final run.
