Why we built our agency around one idea

The Resonance Point is not a tagline, it is the filter we put every brief through. Here is how it changed the way we work.

THE RESONANCE POINT
StrategyThe five-force framework, in one diagram

When we started Libanza, the strategy room and the production floor used to argue. The strategist would write a positioning that was too abstract for the creative to brief production from; production would build something beautiful that nobody could explain back to a CMO. Both halves shipped good work, but separately.

The Resonance Point was the rule we wrote to settle the argument. Before we accept a brief, before any design opens, before media plans get sized, we agree on the single point where five forces meet: human truth, cultural relevance, emotional resonance, strategic creativity, and measurable effectiveness.

If you can’t place a brief at that point, it’s not a brief. It’s a request for assets. We do those too, but we name them differently and price them differently, because they are a different job.

The shift this caused inside the building was small and total. Pitch decks got shorter. Reviews stopped being about whether a thing looked good and started being about whether a thing earned the position the strategist had drawn. Production started reading strategy documents before they read the script. Strategy started watching the dailies.

Years in, this is the filter we put every brief through. It is also the test we apply to our own work, including this note.
