If a brand strategy needs a 40-slide deck to explain, it isn’t a strategy yet. It is research that wants to be a strategy when it grows up.
A strategy fits on a Post-it because everyone in the building has to be able to hold it in their head, junior designer, account exec, production runner, the intern who started yesterday. If they can’t recite the position back at you in one breath, you don’t have one.
Make the position so short that nothing else fits on the same Post-it. Then defend it for the next eighteen months.
